Favorite Cooking Blogs

I LOVE cooking.  Doesn't matter whether its savory, sweet, Mexican, Asian, or good old American cuisine.  I just love to be in the kitchen.  It's my calm space.

I think it comes from growing up in a house where my Mom cooked meals almost every night of the week.  Eating out was rare for us.  Eating dinner as a family at the dinner table was a must.  As my sisters and I got older, she loved to show us how to make casseroles, bake cookies, and basic techniques.  Mom wasn't fancy, but her food was great!  Only ONE meal in 18 years do I remember not liking.  Eggplant Parmesan.  I still can't eat it to this day.  It was so bad, Mom threw it in the trash and we ordered pizza.  We still tease her to this day about it....lovingly of course :)

Fast forward to my own family.  Eating out is not in the budget and family dinners at the table are standard.  I'm blessed to have great recipes from Mom that are go to staples at our house.  Hamburger Pie, Oven Beef Stew, Chicken Noodle Casserole, Taco Dip, and more.

But, the staples get boring after a while and I need to shake things up.  Or when I want to be adventurous and learn how to make something new.  That is when I turn to the web.  Mom loves reading cookbooks like novels......I love reading cooking blogs.  They are my digital cookbooks!  So, I thought I'd share a few of my favorites.  Check them out.  Some are fancy, others are basic, but all have great meals!
